Vermicelli with snails (Bún Ốc)
The food is said to stem from colonial period and even some say that it is introduced to Hanoi by French colonists. Decades after decades, it has become an aboriginal cuisine and belonged to Vietnamese culture.
The soup is often cooked with roasted snails, tofu, and lá tía tô (a kind of medicinal herb). When the soup has been cooked, it is mixtured with vermicelli, added with pepper and garlic and other neccessary spices.
